Viewers welcome between 11am to 4pm both days.

Assenheimer's paintings and sculptures are inspired by the wonders of her garden; minute in the grand scheme of things but roots us to all that matters.

Through this body of work, including concrete sculptures and paintings, Assenheimer explores the blurred lines and existing tensions between personal sovereignty and the corporate.

Shelby will be one of nineteen artists showing her "Saanich Trees" series during the 'STACCATO' collaborative summer show at Gage Gallery.

The "Summer Small Works Show & Sale" in the Massey Gallery offers a wonderful opportunity to view local artwork and to start your original art collection.

The Gage Gallery Arts Collective presents a collaborative show of small works. A combination of over fifty 10" squares make up the three quilts presented in the Gage Gallery's back gallery. "Gage Squared" beautifully compliments Marilyn Chapman's solo exhibition, "Cover Up".

Solo Exhibition, CONVIVIUM, will feature a collection of works painted in the last year by artist Shelby Assenehimer. Shelby's abstracted scenes, of the transitioning seasons that impose their whims upon the accepting landscape, conjure messages of our relationship with each other and the world around us.

Convivium, was a Latin word meaning, with vitality, and eventually came to mean a festive banquet in the Roman days. A word now adopted by the slow food movement, Shelby draws the parallel that Art, too, can be a powerful catalyst to bring a social group together inviting the participants to partake according to their tastes; to contemplate, evaluate and savour.

Through ART one can explore the imagination and sense the world through another lens; all the while taking the artist's work to a new dimension by adding a new layer of perspective.

ART is "food for thought"! Try it--it will make you grow!

I am pleased to announce that "ART ATELIER 546" will be exhibiting five of my artworks including "Vivaldi's Autumn Concerto", "Fall Into Winter", "Solitude", "In The Blind" and "Illusions" until the end of October.

My large scale paintings will be included in this exhibition as the expansive walls and lighting of the Laurel Point are a wonderful setting for showcasing artwork. I look forward to meeting visitors while in residence from Wednesday to Friday afternoons throughout the month of August.

For the month of December 2014, Shelby will be exhibiting her work at the Moka House, set adjacent to Fisherman's Wharf. During January 2015, Anne Bowen will join this exhibition! Enjoy this delightful setting as you view these two collections of artwork.

Shelby's artwork has been accepted by the Community Arts Council of Greater Victoria to be shown in the Cafe of the Victoria Internation Airport. "Vivaldi's Winter Largo" and "Entanglement" will be exhibited until the end of January 2015.

Included in the "Exhibition" is an observation of the "Vanishing Family Farm" bowing to the harsh economic realities.

Join in the festivities of the "Flavor Trail" Weekend at the winery. Fantastic food, wine and art will be had on this memorable weekend. Join Artists, Anne Bowen and Shelby Assenheimer, in the celebrations as they will be on site to show and answer any questions regarding their ARTWORK in the BACCHUS ROOM.
